The latest announced CONTROL Resonant hotfix is 1.4.2, released October 8, 2026. Install it if Zoe is missing in The House in Distress, The Gap exit is blocked after The Artist, or Every Dog Has Her Day completed without its Artifact. The reward's retroactive recovery is limited to saves that have not entered NG+. New Game++ has been available since 1.4.0; Photo Mode remains planned for November.

Checked October 10, 2026 against Remedy's 1.4.2 announcement, 1.4.1 announcement and the September roadmap.

Which update addresses my problem?

ReleaseDateUse it to identify these changes
Hotfix 1.4.2October 8, 2026Zoe and Gap progression, missing dog-quest Artifact, Busken dialogue, Firebreaker and Escort tasks, Wallet/Burn interaction, localization
Hotfix 1.4.1October 2, 2026Required Mold interaction in The Park Resonant and Dash momentum while using Elevate
Game Update 1.4.0October 1, 2026Unlimited New Game++, seven save slots, Build Power display, material tracking and broader combat, quest and PC fixes

Finish the platform's update installation and fully relaunch the game before retrying your save. Record the exact installed build label if you need support: platform build strings can differ from the announcement's hotfix number. The 1.4.0 platform numbers in the historical patch guide identify that release, not the latest build.

What changed for players?

  • Missing quest reward: use the Every Dog Has Her Day save-state check before starting NG+. If you already entered NG+, report that state when asking about the reward.
  • Cannot leave The Gap after The Artist: check whether you quit before choosing an Ability, then follow the post-Artist retry steps.
  • Cannot consume the required Park Mold: the fix belongs to 1.4.1. Update before changing your route to The Collective.
  • Sudden Burn deaths with Wallet equipped: 1.4.2 addresses the interaction when Power runs out. Check the version before spending Reset Items on a new build.
  • Ready for another playthrough: New Game++ allows unlimited consecutive runs. Check the NG+ preparation guide for reward cleanup and transfer planning.
  • Upgrade shopping: 1.4.0 added Gap upgrade notifications and pinned-material Vendor indicators. Use the materials workflow to check stock before travelling.

November: Photo Mode

Remedy's September 25 plan targets Photo Mode for November 2026. Treat November as a planned window rather than a fixed release day. To capture the game now, hide individual HUD elements in Interface options and use your platform's capture controls. The Photo Mode screenshot guide gives the PC, PS5 and Xbox steps.

If a problem remains after updating

Load the affected save after a full restart, then retry the exact objective named in the patch. Keep a record of the quest name, objective text, platform and installed version. For a reward problem, also note whether the original run has entered NG+ and capture the quest record and Artifact inventory. Send those details to Remedy support if the issue persists.

The old 1.3.3 advice for Evacuation Protocols barriers or an unreachable enemy in The End describes different symptoms. Match a workaround to your actual objective and installed version before using it; the 1.4.2 troubleshooting guide helps isolate the newly fixed problems.

Sources and verification
