CONTROL Resonant launched digitally on September 24, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store; the physical console edition is scheduled for October 15. GeForce NOW was included with the digital launch, and a Mac release through Steam and the Mac App Store is planned for later in 2026. For announced updates after launch, see the post-launch roadmap.

The September 17 official Launch Trailer shows Remedy's final pre-release overview. Use the release date guide for platforms and availability, the editions comparison for prices and physical SteelBook contents, or the trailer guide for the video timeline. Standard includes the complete game; Deluxe adds the published digital extras. No published bonus has been shown to be required for normal story progression.

Confirmed release date

Remedy's digital worldwide launch date is September 24, 2026. Steam also displays September 24, and the PlayStation and Xbox announcements identify the same day. The physical console edition was subsequently moved to October 15, 2026, while the digital date did not change.

The digital launch has passed. For a copy that still appears locked, check the exact storefront library, purchase region, and platform support channel; a pre-launch countdown is no longer useful evidence of current availability.

Launch platforms

The launch platforms are Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. PC players can buy through Steam or Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW streaming is planned from launch. Remedy has also confirmed a Mac edition for later in 2026, but no exact Mac date is available.

There are no announced PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch editions. As checked September 26, Steam labels Steam Deck compatibility Unsupported. Read the platforms guide before treating cloud support or controller support as proof of handheld performance.

Standard Edition

The Standard Edition includes the complete base game. Steam listed it at US$59.99 when checked on September 1, though pricing and taxes vary by country. Physical console availability can also vary between retailers.

Players do not need Deluxe cosmetics or starter resources to access the stated main campaign. Remedy has not described a Deluxe-exclusive story mission, character, zone, or boss. Standard is therefore the clearest choice for buyers who want the game without digital extras.

Digital Deluxe Edition

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, Digital Artbook, Original Soundtrack, AWE Mission Outfit, Untapped Artifact described as a Wallet, and a Starter Resource Bundle. Steam listed the package at US$69.99 on the same September 1 check. The ten-dollar US difference is a snapshot, not a universal regional price gap.

PlayStation advertised up to 48-hour early access with the PS5 Digital Deluxe Edition before the September 24 launch. That time-limited perk has passed. The editions guide separates the remaining Deluxe extras from past launch benefits.

Pre-order bonuses

Steam listed the Hiss Corruption Outfit and Pickpocket's Tool Artifact as pre-purchase rewards. Eligibility depends on when the game was bought, not only the edition. If you pre-purchased and do not see them, check your dated receipt and the applicable store entitlement before treating them as current purchase bonuses.

Remedy has not stated that either item is permanently exclusive or required for a build. The Artifact may affect early loadout choices, but final stats and acquisition alternatives need in-game verification. This site will not label the bonus pay-to-win from a name and image alone.

Physical editions and delivery

Remedy says the game has gone gold, but the physical console edition needs more time to be delivered and now releases on October 15, 2026. That is a publisher-level physical-release delay, not a retailer delivery issue. Retail stock, disc contents, regional shipping, and bonus codes can still differ by seller and region. Confirm whether a listing is a full disc, download code, or imported edition before purchasing.

An individual shipped copy can arrive later than October 15 because of a retailer or region, while early delivery does not guarantee that patches or online activation will be ready. This guide tracks publisher-level facts rather than individual store inventory.

Updates after launch

New Game++ is now live in the October 1 update. Photo Mode remains planned for November under the September roadmap. Use the 1.4.2 quest and reward fixes for current blockers, 1.4.0 changes for the NG++ feature update, and the post-launch roadmap for the timeline.

PC requirements and download planning

Steam lists 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, 16 GB RAM, and 120 GB of available SSD storage for both tiers. The minimum target is an i5-8500 or Ryzen 5 3500 with a GTX 1070, RX 5600 XT, or Arc A580; the recommended tier is an i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X with an RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT, or Arc B580. The system requirements page includes the complete specification table and the fields Steam has not published.

Download size and installed storage are not identical. Steam's 120 GB SSD requirement is the safe planning number; check your client for the current download size and leave extra room for patching rather than assuming the download itself is exactly 120 GB.

Languages and accessibility information

Steam lists 15 supported languages, but interface, subtitle, and full-audio support are not identical across every language. Eight languages are marked for full audio in the store table checked for this guide, so buyers who need a particular dub should inspect that row before purchasing. Console language delivery may also depend on region or a separate language pack.

The current store features confirm full controller support on Steam, but they do not provide a complete accessibility menu. Subtitle presentation, remapping, difficulty assists, visual options, and audio cues need release-build verification. We will document those settings from the final menus rather than infer them from controller support alone.

What to verify before buying

Confirm platform, edition, region, language, and early-access wording on the checkout page. Steam lists 15 supported languages, with full audio available for a smaller subset, so “supported” does not always mean dubbed. Console language packs may also be delivered differently.

For PC, compare your GPU's model and VRAM as well as the processor and memory. For console, check that the purchase is for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S rather than a similarly titled older-generation listing. Refund and cancellation rules belong to the storefront and can change independently of Remedy's game details.

Latest update: 1.4.2

Hotfix 1.4.2 was released October 8, 2026. It addresses missing Zoe in The House in Distress, the post-Artist Gap exit, Busken's Underhill dialogue, Firebreaker and Ranger tasks, excessive Burn damage with Wallet, and localization. If Every Dog Has Her Day is complete but its Artifact is missing, check that reward before starting NG+: retroactive recovery requires a save that has not entered NG+.

Read the 1.4.2 troubleshooting guide for symptom checks and the updates timeline for 1.4.1 and 1.4.0. Verified October 10, 2026 against Remedy's official hotfix notes.

Sources and verification

This release guide was verified on September 17, 2026 using Remedy's official Launch Trailer, official release announcement, the live Steam store page, official PlayStation launch coverage, and the publisher's September 17 release announcement. Prices are dated US Steam snapshots, and the 48-hour early-access statement is limited to the PS5 Digital Deluxe listing that explicitly advertises it. Unknown release hours, preload dates, and Mac timing are not estimated.

September 26 update: Remedy confirms the game is out, and its post-launch plan provides the October NG++ and November Photo Mode targets. The older price and preorder details above retain their original check date.
