To take a clean CONTROL Resonant screenshot now, hide unwanted HUD elements in Interface options and use your platform's capture control: Steam F12, PS5 Create or Xbox Share. Remedy's Photo Mode window is November 2026, so these steps let you capture Manhattan while waiting for the dedicated mode. The September roadmap supplies the planned window; Remedy's Interface options explanation confirms that you can hide individual HUD elements.

October 10, 2026 check: the 1.4.2 hotfix addresses quest, reward, combat and localization issues. For the release timeline, use the updates overview; November remains a planned window rather than a fixed day.

How to capture a cleaner image before Photo Mode

  1. Open the game's Interface options and hide the HUD elements that would cover your subject. Remedy confirms that individual elements can be hidden; it has not published a Photo Mode shortcut in the launch version.
  2. Frame the scene using the normal gameplay camera. Move Dylan and adjust the view before taking the shot; there is no announced launch-version free camera.
  3. Take a platform screenshot: on Steam PC, use Steam's screenshot key (F12 by default, if its Overlay is active); on PS5, press Create and choose Take Screenshot; on Xbox Series X|S, tap the controller's Share button, unless you have remapped it.
  4. Restore HUD elements before returning to combat if you rely on health, ability, or objective indicators. Hiding the interface changes presentation, not the underlying game state.

The screenshot controls above come from Valve's Steamworks documentation, PlayStation support, and Xbox Wire. A platform screenshot captures the scene as rendered; it will not retroactively move the camera or remove an on-screen effect.

When will the actual Photo Mode arrive?

Remedy's September 25 plan says November, with no specific day. The studio says the feature had been in development for some time and that virtual photographers from the community advised the team. It was left out of launch while the studio focused on the game's release state. Those statements establish the plan; they do not specify camera range, filters, poses, depth of field, or export resolution. Check the post-launch roadmap for the current plan, then the official patch notes once November's update is available.

Is the Photo Mode from the first CONTROL included?

No. The original game's Photo Mode does not make it a launch feature in CONTROL Resonant. Use the game's current HUD options and platform capture controls in the meantime. Remedy has not said that the two games' photo tools will have the same settings.

Sources and verification

Checked September 26, 2026 against Remedy's September 25 update plan and its official Assist Mode article for Photo Mode timing and hideable HUD elements. Platform screenshot instructions come from Valve, PlayStation, and Xbox. The actual Photo Mode's controls need verification after release. Related guides: roadmap, New Game++, and PC requirements.
