Find Upgrade Materials and Check Vendors

Need a material for an upgrade? Pin the requirement, then check Vendor icons on the map before travelling. Update 1.4.0 adds that stock indicator and a HUD notice for new purchases or upgrades in The Gap. These features were checked October 2, 2026 against Remedy's patch notes.

Check the material before choosing a farm

These distinctions come from the Epic Games Store ability guide. A Reset Item changes an ability allocation; it is not a substitute for Living Shards. A Resonant Token is a separate rare item, not a generic respec currency. Check the specific upgrade description before spending.

A shopping workflow for 1.4.0

1. Open the upgrade you want and record the exact material name and required quantity shown in your language.
2. Use the material-pinning function for that requirement.
3. Open the map and inspect a Vendor icon for the pinned material's availability.
4. Visit the matching vendor and check the actual quantity, price and your balance before purchasing. The map feature confirms availability, not a guaranteed supply sufficient for every upgrade.
5. Return to The Gap, apply the intended upgrade and check Build Power in Loadout.

The button prompts and menus depend on platform and language; this describes the documented workflow without assigning unverified controller buttons.

If no vendor has the material

Do not buy a similarly named item merely to clear the pin. Check that the pinned requirement still belongs to your intended upgrade. Continue available World Events and quests, then recheck stock as you progress. Review coverage links Zone Level to wider vendor choices, but this wiki has no tested restock timer or guaranteed material drop per event.

For a boss reward you want to change, compare the respec guide with your actual Reset Item stock. For the reported Resonant Token reward, the Unknown Zone route helps reach that area; it is not an unlimited token-farming route.

What is confirmed and what still needs testing?

Confirmed in the released patch: pinned-material availability on Vendor map icons and The Gap HUD notifications. Reported by Epic’s authored guide: the three item roles above. Not measured here: prices, vendor coordinates, restock conditions, farming rates or refund ratios. Keep the installed game version with any farming results you record.
