The Dancer: Zone, Push or Ground Slam?

Find The Dancer in West Incursion Zone and compare Push with Ground Slam using terrain, height and your current combat needs.

The Dancer is a reported Resonant in West Incursion Zone. The September 23 Epic Games Store guide lists Push and Ground Slam as its reward choices. An earlier Xbox Wire hands-on used “Dancer” tentatively; the later guide's use of The Dancer strengthens the identification, though the public game's menu is the final check.

ChoiceReported useCheck before selecting
PushKnocks enemies back; a target can collide with a hazard or fall from a ledgeAre your difficult fights happening near usable edges or obstacles?
Ground SlamArea damage that grows with the height of the attackCan your build regularly approach from roofs or other elevated positions?

Push or Ground Slam for your route?

Push is the more tactical terrain choice: it can create breathing room and may turn a dangerous edge into an instant environmental answer. Its value depends on the arena, and neither source establishes that it works identically on heavy enemies or bosses. Ground Slam offers an area attack and the Epic author favors it because Manhattan's vertical spaces create chances to strike from above. The guide does not give a height formula, minimum drop or damage comparison. Use your actual route and preferred movement style rather than treating that recommendation as a rule.

How does this zone relate to Shift?

West Incursion Zone also contains a Fault that grants Shift, according to the same Epic guide. Shift changes movement orientation around gravity-bent surfaces; it is not The Dancer's reward. If you came to this zone for a gravity traversal power, follow the Traversal Abilities guide. If you want Push or Ground Slam, track the Resonant encounter instead. The source does not specify which activity must be completed first or give their map entrances.

What is still unknown about the fight?

The article does not name The Dancer's mission, phases, attacks, weaknesses or safe windows. Those details need repeated checks in the public build before this profile can become a fight walkthrough. The Resonants table shows the other named reward sources without imposing an unverified boss order.

Update 1.4.0

Push reactions against minibosses and heavy enemies are adjusted in 1.4.0, with additional fixes inside Gravity Anomalies. Retest knockback-based follow-ups instead of assuming the old reaction applies to every target. VFX performance on the Dancer approach path is also improved.

October 2, 2026 update: Remedy's released 1.4.0 notes confirm these fixes. Full patch guide.
