Barrage in CONTROL Resonant

Unlock Barrage from The Artist during Orientation and compare its projectile role with Shield and Volatile Anomaly.

Barrage is a named paranatural Combat Ability that launches projectiles at enemies. Remedy communications director Thomas Puha used it as an example of how different abilities give the DualSense adaptive triggers different resistance when activated on PS5.

Confirmed effect

The official description confirms projectiles aimed at enemies. It does not state their count, targeting rules, range, damage type, Power cost, cooldown, or whether Dylan can move while using the ability. Footage and the name alone should not be treated as a final stat sheet.

Where it fits in a build

Barrage may offer a way to pressure enemies outside the Aberrant's immediate melee reach, but its actual role depends on costs, targeting, and how its projectiles interact with Falter and Talents. These interactions have not been confirmed. Compare it with the summon described in Volatile Anomaly, then use The Gap to compare combinations in your installed game version.

The Abilities guide explains how Combat Abilities, melee-restored Power, Talents, and Artifacts connect. The builds guide covers choosing an ability for a specific combat goal without claiming an untested best option.

How to unlock Barrage

The Epic Games Store abilities guide places The Artist in the Orientation mission in Downtown and lists Barrage as one of three rewards after that fight. The alternatives are Volatile Anomaly, a summon you can throw, and Shield, which absorbs damage and gives a dodge-linked Shield Bash. Pick Barrage if a projectile option answers a problem in your current melee setup; the source does not establish it as the highest-damage choice. See The Artist's reward guide before accepting the selection.

The same guide says the other choices cannot immediately be taken without resetting abilities using a Reset Item. On PS5, adaptive trigger resistance varies by ability. Neither source specifies Barrage's exact button mapping, projectile count or Power cost.
